Program Overview - Trained Disciple (T.D.) Certificate Program

The Gap Year program at Eternal King School of the Bible is designed for recent high school graduates who are undecided about their college plans or wish to establish a strong biblical foundation. This one-year program spans two semesters, with four classes each, focusing on biblical interpretation, ministry training, and missions preparation. Each student who completes the program will receive a T.D. Certificate signed by the Board of EKS.

Eligibility Criteria

The Gap Year program is available to high school graduates who are looking to deepen their biblical knowledge and grow in their faith before deciding on their future academic or career path.

Core Classes

The T.D. Certificate program includes a core set of classes. Students may request to take additional, elective courses, during any semester (Fall, Spring, Summer) provided they can manage the coursework. The eight (8) required classes in the Gap Year program are:

 

Bible Interpretation & Worldview (BI 100 & BI 500)

The New Covenant (NT 100 & NT 500)

The Gospels (NT 101 & NT 501)

The Old Covenant (OT 100 & OT 500)

Genesis: Creation to Christ (OT 101 & OT 501)

Bible Research Methods (BI 101 & BI 501)

Christian History & Mission (CH 100 & CH 500)

The Church & The Last Days (NT 103 & NT 503)

Hands-On Experience

We believe in learning by doing. Gap Year students are encouraged to serve locally in Bible-believing churches or Christian ministries. This hands-on experience is invaluable for understanding real-world ministry and missions work.

What is the duration of the Gap Year program?

Can I Meet Others In The Gap Year Program?

Yes. If you are an in-person student in the San Angelo area we will have social events outside of the class meetings. Online students are welcome to come visit in person or to interact socially online with others in the program. We expect all students to abide by our Code of Conduct whether in person or online.
